Sacha PITOËFF (1920–1990, actor and director) / Signed autog - Lot 118
Sacha PITOËFF (1920–1990, actor and director) / Signed autograph letter, 2 pages, in-4 (a small tear at the top), October 17, 1960, presumably to Rika Radifé, director of the Théâtre des Mathurins: He is preparing for the start of the theater season in Paris; he is looking forward to reviving “The Three Sisters” (a play by Anton Chekhov that he had adapted, directed, and produced at the Théâtre de l’Œuvre), he announces a change in the cast, organizes rehearsals, “I hope ticket sales hold steady, because I’ve already lost a lot of money on this show, and whatever I earn here will go toward plugging the holes…! ”; He is on location, “I’m longing for Paris; the film, while interesting from a technical standpoint, is a bit boring for the actors, I’m afraid ” (filming in Germany for Alain Resnais’s “Last Year at Marienbad,” which, in the opinion of all the actors, was indeed freezing)
