Joan MIRO (1893-1983) Tribute to Pablo Picasso - 1981 Set of three pebble-shaped sculptures of various sizes in bronze with a brown, gilded and silvered patina. The obverse bears the inscription Pablo Picasso - Malaga - 25.X.1881; the reverse depicts a landscape composed of a deserted field, a tree and a star, with Miró's signature below. Signed and dated on the front 4.5 x 6 cm and 4 x 3.2 cm These original pebble-shaped medals were issued by UNESCO in 1981 to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. UNESCO awards this medal to individuals or groups in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the Arts and Culture.
