FRAUD - Extract from the Registres du Conseil d'Estat. held in Versailles on November 18, 1673: "...Ouïre le rapport du Sieur COLBERT Contrôleur Général des Finances : Sa Majesté ordonne que les Règlements généraux des Manufactures du mois d'Août 1669, pour les longueurs, largeururs, teintures, et marques des Étoffes,... will be executed according to their form and content, and consequently that the Mayors, Aldermen, Jurats, Consuls, Capitouls, and other Judges to whom the knowledge is attributed, in first instance, will judge in conformity with them, under penalty of answering in their own and private names for the fines and confiscations they should have pronounced, and prohibition." - Followed by the Ordinance signed by the Autograph of BOUCHU, King's Counselor, Intendant in BOURGOGNE and BRESSE.
