VAL-D'OISE. SALT LOFT OF PONTOISE (95). Charter of 1463. Mandate Guillaume COLOMBEL King's Counsellor, to the grandmaster and Controller of the Salt Loft established in PONTOISE. He explains that the King, in order to provide for his great finance which it is advisable to him to make for the recovery of his lands of Picardy committed to the Duke of BOURGOGNE by the Treaty of ARRAS (21 September 1435) established the right of 4 Tournament pounds per muid of Salt by instructing Guillaume COLOMBEL to put order so that the prices are not excessive, this one fixes the price of Salt at 33 Tournament pounds the muid. The heirs of Jehan de Merle, who held the Grenier de CONFLANS for six years, having established that they have 40 muids of Salt in their possession, a duty of 4 pounds per muid will be levied on the said 40 muids.
