Hippolyte de BÉTHUNE, Count of Selles, Marquis of Chabris, known as “The Count of Béthune” (Rome 1603 – Sept. 24, 1665), Knight of the King’s Orders and Knight of Honor of Queen Maria Theresa of Austria, Governor of the Towns and Castle of Romorantin, of Millançay, and of the Château de Marcheval in Millançay. Document signed “Hippolyte de Béthune” in PARIS, March 25, 1665. 1 page, in-8°. He transferred to the Marquis de MONTATERRE (Montataire, OISE) the sum of 19 arpents of meadows located in the district of SENLIS (Oise) “and this for the share to which I am entitled as a result of the gift that His Majesty (the King) has graciously granted me—both the usurped and the alienated communal lands in the said election of SENLIS, and the said transfer for a term of 25 years of usufruct as provided for in my Letters Patent of July 23, 1663, and December 15, 1664.”
